Pureprint Group has invested in a B2+ Foliant Taurus 530SF from Intelligent Finishing Systems to support increasingly tighter turnaround times.
Matthew Cummins, head of digital at the innovative print and marketing service provider Pureprint Group, explains: “Lamination is expected more and more and it can also be offered as a value-added option. We have service level agreements that mean we need to deliver jobs within 24 or 36 hours.
“We had a laminator for digital and litho work but needed one solely for digital. The Foliant is in the digital department in our Uckfield site completing the work as it arrives off the HP Indigo presses.”
“We did look at various different offerings in the market place but the Foliant was the perfect system for us. Flexibility and simple set up were our main criteria and it’s ease of use means anyone in our team can operate it. They can run it for four to five hours and then not again for another week but still produce great results. It delivers a very high quality.
“Also important was quick substrate change. We can often go from one sheet to five and then to 100 and we use matt, gloss, and anti-scratch. The ability to change over easily was important. We liked the feeder too. It’s like the feeders on our presses. It is high quality and robust.”
The small footprint 30m/min B2+ Foliant Taurus 530SF features a rising pile back separation stream feeder and a suction paper feed head. The compact design incorporates feeder, laminator, and a sheet separator in a single construction.
Cummins concludes: “It has been great. We have had same really good feedback from the guys. It just makes such a difference heading into the peak season and at this rate we will more than double our throughput.”
