Horizon’s BQ-280PUR perfect binder is specially designed to handle the unique requirements of digital print – with digital print friendly processing, quick set-up and changeover for shorter production runs, book-of-one capability, and even in-line verification for document integrity. The BQ-280 also uses environmentally-friendly PUR glue which meets the requirements of Lay-Flat binding for both offset and digital prints as well as coated stock. The large color touchscreen features intuitive icons for easy operation. Simply input book block and cover information at the touchscreen for quick and automatic setup, including carriage clamp, milling, glue application, creasing, nipping, and cover feeder.

• PUR Perfect Binding – Superior glue application is assured with dual application drums and separate EVA side glue application. Drum application enables production of one to one variable thickness books with maximum quality control.
• User-friendly Operation – New large color touchscreen with intuitive icons simplifies the operator interface. All setups can be done instantly by simply inputting book block and cover information at the color touchscreen.
• Extended spine length – Spine length is extended to 385 mm. Maximum book size is 385 x 320 mm and the maximum book thickness is 51 mm.
• Variable thickness production – Built in thickness caliper provides greater production efficiency for instant change over and variable thickness book.
• Dynamic glue application and nip delay time in variable mode.

Options include:
FLP-280 (Flap Cover Unit) : The fold line for flap covers can be scored in-line. Flap covers are then folded inward along the scoring line after binding.
