Interprint has enhanced its inhouse lamination services with investment in a B2+ Foliant Mercury 530SF laminator from Intelligent Finishing Systems.

The Swindon general commercial printer works closely with design agencies. It produces a wide range of print including flyers, leaflets, folders, postcards, posters, brochures, business cards, letterheads, catalogues, POS, exhibition stands, banners, promotional items and signage.

Production manager Shawn Martin states: “We brought our lamination in house with a smaller system, but it soon became clear we needed a more productive solution to manage the work.

“We looked at other laminators on the market but the Foliant stood out. It ticked a number of boxes including faster operation.”

Among the reasons Martin chose the 25mpm B2+ Mercury 530SF heavy-duty industrial laminating system, was its Heidelberg suction feeder. He says: “The better feeder head means it can run slightly quicker. There is also a better snap between sheets and an improved decurler.”

The affordable addition of foiling capabilities with the Foliant Multi-functional Inprinting Unit was another plus. He says: “We work with a lot of design agencies and we will now be able to offer them additional foiling services in a cost-effective way.”

As for return on investment he says: “The system has just gone in but we expect it will pay for itself from the day one. We are pleased with it so far.”
