IFS will be highlighting how printers can offer short-run, creative, value added and flexible solutions at Label&Print 2015, Birmingham NEC, February 25 and 26, with its Horizon RD-4055 Rotary Die-Cutting & Creasing System.
“The RD-4055 launched at Print Efficiently attracted a lot of attention for its capability to help operations create value added print that stands out,” comments joint IFS Managing Director Bryan Godwyn. “When there is so much pressure to differentiate and create a profitable service portfolio, cost effective solutions like this open up exciting opportunities.”
The Horizon RD-4055 Rotary Die Cutter can die-cut, kiss-cut, crease, perforate, slit, hole punch and round corner in one process for offset and digital printed sheets with automatic registration correction on-the-fly by using an optical mark reader to guarantee cutting and creasing accuracy to each printed sheet.
Repeat register function enables the running of multiple up imposed applications with a smaller die to reduce die cost. It can offer up to five repeats in a single pass. There is also simple and easy operation that reduces costly labour steps and increases productivity with easy setup and operation versus steel rule or mechanical dies.
Features and Benefits:
• Runs at up to 6,000 cycles per hour
• Maximum sheet size 400 x 550 mm
• Substrate flexibility up to 0.5 mm
• One pass processing
• Eliminates the costs of making a steel rule or mechanical die
• Uniquely designed servo motor with a controlled “Repeat Register” feature that allows multiple-up applications from single-up die to minimize die cost.
• Simple and easy operation
At the event visitors can view various samples of finished products laminated on a Foliant Vega 400A Laminator, die-cut, creased, perforated or kiss-cut on the Horizon RD-4055 and glued and folded on a Petratto Metro Folder-Gluer.
The Foliant Vega 400A is a fully automatic high pressure B3+ laminating machine (feeder, laminator, separator and jogger) developed for offset and digital printed sheet output up to 500gsm. The machine is equipped with a super non-stick laminating roller, for window lamination, and uses a pneumatic system for applying the lamination film under pressure and heat.
The Petratto Metro can produce a wide range of applications from credit card and CD gluing – using fugitive holt melt glue – to carton boxes, wraparounds and envelopes. It is ideal for an array of complex short run applications for markets such as direct mail, POS and packaging, as well as general commercial work. And its modular approach enables solutions to be tailor made to suit each operations’ requirements.
