IFS is delighted to announce that it is collaborating with Fujifilm at Ipex 2014 (S4 E330), where it will showcase a Lasermax unwinder and a Horizon StitchLiner 6000, to complement Fujifilm’s Jet Press 540W digital inkjet web press and Jet Press 720 B2 sheet-fed digital inkjet press.
“It is great to be working with Fujifilm in the run up to Ipex 2014,” comments Bryan Godwyn, joint managing director of IFS, stand N3 D291. “Horizon has a long-history of working alongside leading manufacturers in the print production environment and we are pleased to be continuing this tradition with Fujifilm.”
He continues: “There are many benefits to a roll-to-roll production. The main attraction is the consistency of the substrate from the roll plus the production time gains compared to loading sheet feed systems. There is also the enhanced book of one technology with the ability to print optical marks to control the cut position between different jobs.
“Another consideration is the cost savings of specifying a roll of paper. As long as there are no specific substrate demands this enables the printer to buy paper, arguably the biggest expense for any job, much more cost effectively.”
Graham Leeson, head of European communications – Fujifilm Graphic Systems adds: “Our focus at Ipex is to demonstrate the business model for short run digital print produced on our inkjet presses, whether it is produced on a reel or as sheets. Our collaboration with IFS at Ipex helps us to achieve this and fits with our goal of ensuring we operate our stand as close to a true production environment as possible, producing a variety of finished print.
“The Jet Press 540W digital inkjet web press is a perfect fit for the production of a variety of short run magazines, books, catalogues and journals. Thanks to Fujifilm’s expertise in integrating high performance ink, screening and printhead technologies, the Jet Press 540W produces the highest quality print available from a digital web press. Also on our stand at Ipex will be the Jet Press 720 which is transforming the production of short run commercial print and will be running a wide variety of jobs, including brochures, calendars, books and posters, live every day of the show”
