FuturePrint has chosen a Horizon CRF-362 folder creaser from Intelligent Finishing Systems (IFS) to ensure its operations remain smooth and streamlined.
The Northampton, third generation family run, general commercial printer produces a wide range of print from leaflets to bespoke packaging. It prints litho on a B2 Sakurai press and digital on Xerox 4100 and Xerox 3100 presses.
Darren Wrighting, Managing Director, explains the investment: “It was a straight replacement for a creaser folder we already had. That was something we had replaced 18 months before, but it was not as good as our previous one. We needed a solution that would complete the work as smoothly as possible.”
FuturePrint already runs a Horizon SPF-200L bookletmaker and Petratto folder gluer supplied by IFS. Darren was impressed with the build of the systems and quality they produced. So much so, that when he spoke to IFS about the options for his latest investment, he made the decision to invest immediately.
He continues: “I didn’t even look at the Horizon CRF-362 folder creaser. We were told what it would do and because we already have systems from IFS we knew we could trust that it would. And it does. It is a great bit of kit. It is solid and gives us versatility. Our operators are happy too. They are confident in what can be produced.”
He adds: “When we were offered two days training, we took it, but were not sure why it needed that long. However, the operators discovered it can do so much more than they thought. It was well worth it. It has given us proper value for money.”
The Horizon CRF-362 creases and folds in one pass a wide range of light and heavy weight stocks, coated or uncoated. Capable of up to ten crease lines on a sheet, it uses an impact matrix creasing technology that eliminates or minimizes cracking of the stock or printed image. Set-up and changeovers – including fold pattern, creasing number, and up/down crease selection – are completed on the high resolution intuitive color touch screen.
As for working with IFS Darren says: “There is nothing else I need, but if there was, I would be buying it from IFS.”
