Intelligent Finishing Systems will launch three new portfolio additions at the highly successful annual Print Efficiently 14.
The fourth industry showcase that is fast-becoming a pivotal event is being held for the second time at Apex Digital Graphics in Hemel Hempstead on October 7, 8, 9, and 21, 22 and 23.
As a core partner IFS will present the new Horizon RD-4055 rotary die cutter designed to meet the growing demand for short run products, the Horizon AF-406 small-format automated folder and the Horizon TBC-200L top and bottom cutter.
RD-4055 Rotary Die Cutter
The new Horizon RD-4055 Rotary Die Cutter can die-cut, crease, perforate, slit, hole punch and round corner in one process for digital and offset printed sheets.
Repeat register function enables the running of multiple up imposed applications with a smaller die to reduce die cost. It can offer up to five repeats in a single pass. There is also simple and easy operation that reduces costly labour steps and increases productivity with easy setup and operation versus steel rule or mechanical dies.
Features and Benefits:
• Runs at up to 6,000 cycles per hour
• Maximum sheet size 400 x 550 mm
• Substrate flexibility up to 0.5 mm
• One pass processing
• Eliminates the costs of making a die
• Uniquely designed servo motor with a controlled “Repeat Register” feature that allows multiple-up applications from single-up die to minimize die cost.
• Simple and easy operation
Horizon AF-406F
The Horizon AF-406F / T406F is a JDF ready automated modular buckle folder. It has 6 buckles on the first station and 6 on the second that can be combined. It features small circumference and special multiple compound rollers for consistent precision folding of complex smaller formats at speed. Operation is via a user-friendly, icon-based 10.4” colour touch screen.
Features and Benefits:
• Runs at up to up to 30,000sph
• User-friendly LCD Touch Screen to allow fast, efficient production
• Advanced automation for short make-readies that reduces paper waste and energy consumption
• Pharmaceutical folds can be set up automatically. Small fold dimensions down to 20mm (0.79”) can also be performed.
• The optional pXnet bindery control system makes job scheduling and tracking super-efficient
• Up to 200 job settings can be memorized for quick and easy recall of regular jobs
• Max sheet size 400 x 650mm
Horizon TBC-200L
The Horizon TBC-200L automatically trims the head and foot of magazines and catalogues. Working inline with the SPF-20 / 20a and SPF- 200 and 200L, it trilaterally cuts work as part of a smooth one step process. It eliminates the need for separate cutting and moving of work which speeds up throughput, increasing productivity and capacity. Operation via a user-friendly, icon-based 10.4” colour touch screen reduces job set up time and improves accuracy and ease of use.
Features and Benefits:
• Runs at up to up to 4,000bph
• User-friendly LCD Touch Screen to allow fast, efficient production
• Connectable with the SPF-20/20A, 200A/200L bookletmaking system
• Trim thickness 5mm
• Trim width max 25.4mm
Comments joint IFS managing director Bryan Godwyn: “Horizon is constantly launching new products and updating bindery favourites and Print Efficiently, a collaborative event that demonstrates, from conception to completion, how equipment from multiple manufacturers can create seamless end-to-end production, is the perfect platform to launch these new additions.
“What we think is a key USP for Print Efficiently is that unlike traditional trade shows that are often about the ‘hard sell’, this event offers a more relaxed environment. Suppliers work together to put the interests of the end user first. We are looking forward to seeing how we can help operations create a more harmonious workflow to boost productivity and profitability.”
At the event, which offers an educational forum for new ideas regarding efficiency and profitability, IFS will also present a number of its best-selling solutions from the Horizon BQ470 four clamp perfect binder and Horizon StitchLiner book production line to the Horizon B2 AFC-566 folder and Foliant Vega laminator.
